First off, I should apologize for the long delay in posting. Maybe not that long, but too long if I wish to become serious about the whole blogging thing.
So, I've been watching the reviews of Puella Magi Madoka Magica by SF Debris on an almost Marathon basis today. I myself love this anime to bits. And after a good deal of thinking about it, well, the Latin in this entry's title should sum up my opinions of the eponymous character quite nicely (even if it did come from Google Translate).

What Is This Blog About, Anyway?
First I believe it would be best for me to introduce myself. I am Jessica Carnes. I am 24 years old, single, Mormon, living in Utah, and the kind of person that can easily get wrapped up in fandom.
A while back, I had a Relief Society teacher who used The Lion King as an object lesson. Mainly the scene where Mufasa's ghost says to Simba "Remember who you are." The point was for us to remember who we were (daughters of God), and to let us know that we "are more than what we have become."
That lesson has stuck with me for three-ish years. It was probably the best lesson I've ever had in a church setting. And recently, it got me thinking.
I know that my spirituality has been weakening for a while. I know that spreading the gospel will help a lot in getting it strong again. But I could not think of a way to share it with the world until now.
Even when I was a young girl, I would find gospel truth in my favorite movies, video games, and so on. So why not share what I found with the world?
So that is the point of this blog. I will let the world know what truths I have found in various works of fiction. After all, Alma 30:44 says that "all things denote there is a God." Why should the stuff we make up be any different?
